Watching the excorsist, it was interesting to watch as i had never seen it before and it's interesting to see how it was relevant then and what it means to people and the contraversy of it but the film was too long and slow for me but it was interesting still

  5. 1. At what moment in the class this week did you feel most engaged with what was happening?
watching the film we watched today was very horrific which brought back this kind of context with an semitic and physiological understanding the film which made it self reflecting for a religious point of view.

    2. At what moment in the class this week did you feel most distanced from what was happening?
when not told deeply on what the film is about and the the new assignment was not given to us on what all the point mean and how to do it

    While watching the film

    3. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find most affirming and helpful?
When Lyndsey talked to us about the film studies assignment that we are doing again. The powerpoint that was presented was helpful as it helped me to remember what it was about

    4. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find the most confusing puzzling?
At first when we were going over the different film studies analysis it was confusing as i had forgot what everything meant. However, after the presentation it became more clear.

    5. What about the class this week surprised you the most? (This could be something about your own reactions to what went on, or something that someone did, or anything else that occurs to you.)
My reaction to the exorcist film. I found it quite disturbing even though i thought i wouldn't with it having bad effects and with it being such an old film.

  7. 1. At what moment in the class this week did you feel most engaged with what was happening?

I felt most engaged when watching the film today and trying to connect it to psychoanalysis.

I did not feel distanced at any point during the day.

    3. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find most affirming and helpful?

I felt the most help given today was when Paul explained to us what we had to do for the Trent and dove project. This helped me understand something that was previously unclear to me.

I did not find anything confusing today.

    5. What about the class this week surprised you the most? (This could be something about your own reactions to what went on, or something that someone did, or anything else that occurs to you.)

The only thing that surprised me today is that we were watching a film. This helped in the process for understanding key parts of the next theory assignment.

we haven't really done anything to be engaged in today, unless watching a film counts

Nothing has happened to be distanced yet this week

    5. What about the class this week surprised you the most? (This could be something about your own reactions to what went on, or something that someone did, or anything else that occurs to you.)

that the exorcist isn't scary even though its been said that it is

  9. 1. At what moment in the class this week did you feel most engaged with what was happening?

Watching The Exorcist probably. I'd never seen it before, but with it being as old as it is, I'd heard so many different things about it and it was good to finally see it.

    2. At what moment in the class this week did you feel most distanced from what was happening?

When I couldn't help Paul with the Trent and Dove thing. I felt really guilty, especially as I'd turned up to the meeting prepared to do it, but then realised after he'd explained the amount of work we'd have to put in to it, that I already have too much to do.

    3. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find most affirming and helpful?

Lindsay quickly going over semiotics. Last year I over-thought it all and got confused, but she explained it in really simple terms and I understood where I'd confused myself. I feel confident in applying it to films now.

    4. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find the most confusing puzzling?

I didn't know the website project for Lindsay had to be in today. I missed a week with her, but I felt I'd let myself down a bit with not having it finished.

    5. What about the class this week surprised you the most? (This could be something about your own reactions to what went on, or something that someone did, or anything else that occurs to you.)

The Exorcist didn't scare me. Some of the really vulgar language/obscene scenes did shock me, but it didn't seem to have any of the atmosphere that the typical horror films I'd seen had.

  10. 1. At what moment in the class this week did you feel most engaged with what was happening?

Lindsay going through Theory and watching The Excorsist.

    3. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find most affirming and helpful?

Paul explaining roles for Trent and Dove and what will be involved.

    4. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find the most confusing puzzling?

Having filmed an additional project this week Im feeling lost now as to how to move it forward.

I know communication has been poor with the Co-op event but some support would be good even though i know it is not a priority. I am left feeling It will be left to me to sort out and thinking when can i edit this give it to the co-op.

I Was not impressed with the organisers of this event from the college- they do work for the same college dont they? Why they couldnt come to our class and speak to us is beyond me.

    5. What about the class this week surprised you the most? (This could be something about your own reactions to what went on, or something that someone did, or anything else that occurs to you.)

We are on a film course and no one wants to film for Trent and Dove. I felt quite sorry for Paul today as no one volunteered except for one. I have filmed on every project and now need to complete projects to the end. Its cheeky just to sit and edit the same footage all day, some projects are not even finished after over a month of editing. Its crazy.

    Rant over with!

I was really interested today and nothing really distracted me.

    3. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find most affirming and helpful?

Lindsay explained things very well and i found the way she told me very good - i now understand

    4. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find the most confusing puzzling?

I can't believe some people on my course. They are doing a film course and don't either want to make films or can't be arsed - whats the point. I wasn't at the meeting at dinner but we've all talked about it. I'm lucky as i've filmed and edited some footage but there are some people on the course who've done nothing or sit around picking their noses and watching crap on youtube. I'm confused as why theyare here.

    5. What about the class this week surprised you the most? (This could be something about your own reactions to what went on, or something that someone did, or anything else that occurs to you.)

    4. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find the most confusing puzzling?

I've not really found anything confusing today. In the morning Kate explained everything really well and checked on all of us, and in the afternoon Mark made sure we all got stuck in and knew what was happening.

    5. What about the class this week surprised you the most? (This could be something about your own reactions to what went on, or something that someone did, or anything else that occurs to you.)

Quite a few things: how quickly gelatin dries, how long it takes to layer up a bruise how you want it to, how sticky toffee sauce is, and how much fun I had going to Greggs dressed as a zombie and rolling around in the grass covered in mince can be, haha :D

I was suprised at how much fun I had today, and how much fun everyone else had. I don't think the groups ever been that cheerful and happy before. I was suprised at how good all the make up looked for the zombies and how good the blood looked. I was concerened by how much Mark enjoys blood as my entire face was covered in blood, it was only meant to come out of my neck. But it was all worth it as it was the best day at college by far.
