100 favourite movies

http://www.totalfilm.com/features/totalfilm-com-s-100-favourite-movies/101-dalmations-1961

Total Film have polled "Facebook fans and Twitter followers (via tumblr) for their favourite films. Not necessarily the "greatest" movies ever made, just the ones that make them feel warm and tingly when they watch them. We've included choices from Total Film staff and contributors too, so you can see our tastes are as personal and eclectic as yours!"

What do we think? My first thought was "Armageddon and no Godfather?" But then I noticed the quote that Total Film were after the films that make you "feel warm and tingly". So I then thought "ok, maybe Godfather was rightly excluded"...but then further on in the list we have Once Upon a Time in America and, more worringly, Taxi Driver!?!?!?!?!...Taxi Driver is many things but "warm and tingly" it aint...

So, even though it's a daft list, what's missing??? (also check post below)

  1. Has to be the weirdest list I've ever seen.

Why are films like Fight Club, No Country for Old Men, Pulp Fiction, Se7en, or Oldboy giving people warm and tingly feelings? I'm concerned about these people. They're definitely some of my favourite films, but not for that reason!

I'm very glad LotR and Where the Wild Things Are were present though :)

If you're talking favourite in-terms of 'warm and tingly', there wasn't nearly enough John Hughes' films on there, Breakfast Club is definitely one of my favourites, and no Studio Ghibli! Spirited Away is just beautiful. I'd probably say any Harry Potter and Juno would be on my list too, as they always make me happy.
