Is film dead?

  1. If they can make it more accessible and cheaper to new filmmakers I say no. Digital can`t totally replace film. Film is unique and I agree more creative. Good to know the basics, well I think you just have to know them.

  2. I all honesty yes! Film is dying out this is due to the process it takes. It takes up to much time and isnt cost effective. yes its a good skill to learn but courses would never fund such a prosess.

  3. I see why people prefer it, just like I prefer real paint to digital painting, but with production and distribution costs it no longer seems efficient. New technology allows new filmmakers with practically no budget to make what they want to (our entire class). But I know young people who collect newly released vinyl, and so I don't think it will ever completely die.

  4. I can see the point, however we wouldn't be were we are today without film. Its something thats essential. But thats my point. I find digital film as a preferable option however i do enjoy watching film Films, it gives that authentic original look. But i hope it doesn't go.

  6. Quite funny..I have been bought a 8mm/16mm film splicer...just need the film and the camera:)
