ReplyDeleteWell, we had a task this morning to re-create a dream and film it. It was so much fun. I laughed ALOT. Was nice to work with other people too. Editing too today was engaging, as Im trying to be a better editor and make better decisions.Syncing sound was a good challenge.

Converting footage was a bit of pain for me today as my Mac is full of files and needs a spring clean. It turned out I couldnt even edit due to the amount of work on my poor Mac.

Even though I have been told loads on how to convert files, I seem to find a new problem. Mark always helps me sort it out so that is reassuring.
4. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find the most confusing puzzling?
None really that I can think of this week.

I overheard a student speaking disrespectfully to a member of staff who was trying to help them, I was not impressed. (Especially when that person is very helpful.) I felt it caused a negative atmosphere and I felt really sorry for the member of staff. Not nice to see from a student.

ReplyDeleteFilming the short task today. I thought it was going to massively get in the way of everything I have to do still, especially editing, but I saw why it was set and I did end up having loads of fun. I'd never really been filmed, so that was an interesting new thing for me to try.
2. At what moment in the class this week did you feel most distanced from what was happening?
Final Cut Pro failed me today, as it hates MP4 files and some people hadn't converted theirs and I didn't think it would matter - how wrong I was. So I was really getting into editing, and then had to convert people's footage, and now I have to re-edit everything I've done so far. Bad times.
3. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find most affirming and helpful?
As I've said, I've had some problems with files and software, but both Mark and Andy have been really helpful today.
4. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find the most confusing puzzling?
I didn't really get why we were asked about a course I did two years ago. I couldn't really remember anything and throughout the talk I was just wondering why this didn't happen as soon as the course itself was abandoned. Plus the woman who asked questions was quite confusing, Paul and Mark had to clarify a few things.

Going filming with Mark next week. I'm really excited, and feel like any effort I've put in has been noticed and that feels really great in itself, nevermind us being rewarded too, which feels even better :) Definitely spurs you on to keep up the work.
