Every film should be a "directors cut" and shown in full. Its how the narrative was intended to be shown by the director. All hail the "Law of Riddle" :)
you'd think so but ridley scotts 'kingdom of heaven' is proof that the intended cut doesn't always make it to the cinema
and, obviously, blade runner
'once upon a time in america' is another example....was butchered by the studio. now its regarded as a classic
