Anyway, the film currently has 24,000 views, which is astounding...it goes to show how good student films can be and the talent you can find on display at festivals such as Exposures
Upon noticing 'Heartstrings' on the main page, I looked at the filmmakers page to see what they have been up to and noticed a new film...it appears to be a sequel (oh no!!!!)
What do you think people?

I prefer the original. This one does does not seem to have the same spark in my opinion. I enjoy watching the characters coming in and out of the frame in Heartstrings.Using fades within this animation confuses me for some reason. The lighting is much darker too which means I cannot fully see the animation, expressions, which is a pity. The story does not capture me as Heartstrings did, it was not as clear :(
ReplyDeleteperhaps the dark shadows are designed to represent that this is a slightly darker story than heartstrings?
ReplyDeletehowever, i have to say, i think this proves the theory that sometimes you should just leave things alone...
i am slightly disappointed that the filmmaker has not moved on to a new story - i.e. one with different characters...including characters that look the same as the ones seen in heartstrings encourages you to draw comparisons between the two films, which is a mistake as it would be difficult for ANY filmmaker to top the first film - its near perfect in my opinion...
perhaps this was just one of those ideas that the filmmaker needed to get off the page before moving onto their next project.....
in my opinion I think this one as a stand alone film is ok but as you two say its nowhere near as good as there last piece of work I suppose Thats the thing once its "perfect" why try and do something different??
